Overview

Team Densi-T is focused on solving a problem that is faced by many individuals on Georgia Tech’s campus itself. With such a large population on a medium sized campus, particular areas of the campus itself are prone to becoming overly crowded or busy to the point where it takes quite a long time to perform simple tasks, such as getting food, finding a place to study, or finding equipment or a location for a particular recreational activity.

The mobile application, Densi-T, that the team came up with provides a way for individuals on campus to more efficiently use their time and make decisions on how exactly to use their time based on the “busyness” level of a certain part of campus.

Involvement

  • Developed an Android application to reduce overcrowding by reflecting Georgia Tech's student population around campus.
  • Implemented Google Map API using customized density markers and population bar charts corresponding to the user's current timeline.
